Prof. Dr. Hongtao Duan is currently employed by the Nanjing Institute of Geography and Limnology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and a professor at Northwest University, China. He received his BA at Northwest University, China, and Ph.D. at Northeast Institute of Geography and Agricultural Ecology, Chinese Academy of Science, China. In 2007, he served as an Assistant Professor and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2010 and Professor in 2015 at Nanjing Institute of Geography and Limnology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. His primary research is focused on addressing Lake problems using optical remote sensing. This includes eutrophication, algal blooms, carbon cycling, climate change, and anthropogenic influence on water quality in lakes.
