Author Biographies

Glori Das received her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering and Bachelor of Science and Arts with Honors in Neuroscience from the University of Texas at Austin in 2021 and is now pursuing a dual degree MD–PhD program, with a PhD in Biomedical Engineering at Texas A&M University. Her research topics mainly include cancer immunology, spatial omics, retinal Muller glia biology, and biophotonics.
Dr. Stephen T. C. Wong holds the John S. Dunn Presidential Distinguished Chair at Houston Methodist, where he serves as Professor of Radiology and Medicine with Tenure and Founding Chair of the Systems Medicine and Bioengineering Department. He is also Associate Director of the Houston Methodist Neal Cancer Center and holds joint appointments at Weill Cornell Medicine. Wong earned his PhD in Computer Science, specializing in AI, from Lehigh University, PA, and has received numerous prestigious awards in the life sciences and bioengineering. He is a Fellow of multiple national and international medical and engineering societies. Wong has led groundbreaking projects, including research on spatial intelligence for cancer and Alzheimer’s disease research, label-free optical imaging for virtual histology, AI for acute stroke diagnosis and intervention, and the development of the first hospital-integrated picture archiving and communication systems. He has published over 400 peer-reviewed papers and serves on various academic and clinical committees. As the principal investigator of six NIH-funded projects, his teaching spans systems biology, medical imaging, AI, bioinformatics, and biophotonics. His research interests focus on cancer, neurodegeneration, neurological and eye disorders, fibrotic diseases, and their crosstalk.
Dr. Hong Zhao is an Associate Professor at Houston Methodist Neal Cancer Center, Weill Cornell Medicine. She completed her MD and PhD studies in Neurobiology at Shanghai Medical College, Fudan University, and obtained her post-doctoral training at Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. She recently led the spatial image-omic biomarkers for T-Dxd resistance in metastatic breast cancer project. She has published over 120 papers in various journals and serves as a PI in several NIH-funded research projects. Her interests include brain metastasis, systems immunology, and multi-scale optical imaging.
