Prof. Christie Maria Sayes is a Professor of Environmental Science at the Department of Environmental Science, Baylor University. She completed her Master’s and PhD studies in Chemistry at Rice University. Her primary research areas of interest are toxicology, medicine, and environmental health. Currently, she focuses on exposure characterization and predictive modeling. She has more than two decades of experience in nanotechnology and advanced materials, and her group addresses several fundamental issues relevant to the development of safe and effective formulations in biological and environmental applications. These issues include material characterization, exposure kinetics, hazard identification and communication, and mechanistic and molecular analyses.
