Roberto de Paula do Nascimento is a post-doctoral fellow at the Universidade Estadual de Campinas, with a scholarship from the São Paulo Research Foundation. He has a PhD in Food and Nutrition from the Universidade Estadual de Campinas, and a Master of Science from the Universidade Federal de São Paulo, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Nutrition from the Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora. Roberto completed two sandwich doctorates, one at the Universidad de Granada, Granada, Spain, and the other at Cardiff University, Cardiff, United Kingdom. Roberto is an affiliate member of the European Crohn's and Colitis Organization and has experience in the area of Experimental Nutrition, working mainly on the following topics: animal experimentation, lipid diets, native Brazilian fruits, functional foods, bioactive compounds, inflammatory bowel diseases, and colorectal cancer.
