Dr. Loredana-Elena Olar received a DVM (Veterinary Medicine) and a PhD from the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Cluj-Napoca. She is an Assistant professor at the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Cluj-Napoca, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, with expertise in research involving laboratory animals (as a means of detecting the toxic properties of chemical substances) and biophysical techniques such as spectrofluorimetry and FT-IR. She was focused on the spectrofluorimetric characterization of different fluorophores in the biological fluids of animals and humans with diabetes mellitus and respectively, in diseases associated with the existence of diabetes (depression). She was a member of the research team of the project called “The characterization of the effects at the sub-cellular level of functionalized magnetic nanoparticles in targeted anti-tumor therapy”.
Prof. Florin-Ioan Beteg graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Cluj Napoca, Romania, and completed his surgical training in Austria and Vienna as well as several clinical rotations in the USA, where he was a resident in animal surgery. Since graduation, he has been a member of the teaching staff, and since 2021 he has been a Professor of Surgery at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Cluj Napoca. Formerly, he was the Head of the Clinic Department at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Agricultural Sciences, Cluj Napoca, Romania. Prof. Beteg is also a Board Member of an NGO(Căminul Felix/ Asociatia Acțiunea FelixOradea, Bihor, Romania). He holds a PhD in Veterinary Medicine, and is a board eligible member of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons. Professor Beteg has published hundreds of articles in peer-reviewed journals, supervised many thesis and dissertations, and written many surgery books and bioethics. He is involved in numerous scientific and professional societies and has delivered presentations at conferences and congresses all over the world (in Europe, the USA, Australia, and Japan).
