Sunetra Chowdhury is an Associate Professor in Electrical Engineering Department, and DSI/NRF-Sasol Research Chair in Energy and Power Systems Modelling at the University of Cape Town. She completed her Ph.D. in Electrical Power at the Jadavpur University. Furthermore, she has served as a visiting researcher at the Brunel Institute of Power Systems, Brunel University (2006–2007) and at the University of Manchester (2007–2009). She is an accomplished researcher in power and energy systems with over 30 years of experience in academia and industry. Her research covers the areas of power system operation, energy management and protection, grid integration of distributed generation, microgrids, hybrid renewable energy systems, energy storage, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, and sustainable energy solutions for critical businesses.
