Savka Petrova earned, from Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski," a BS in Physics (2004), an MSc in Meteorology (2006), and a PhD in Meteorology (2012). She is now the Head Assistant at the Department of Meteorology and Geophysics, Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski." Her research interests include cloud physics—specifically microphysics, dynamics, and electrification of clouds (formed in continental and maritime air masses, impact of aerosols (as CCN and IN))—numerical simulations, "lightning climatology", the relationship between flash frequency and rainfall, sea surface temperature (SST), and thermodynamic conditions over land and sea.
