Since 2019, Prof. Zhicheng Zhang has been a professor at the Department of Chemistry, School of Science, Tianjin University, and the Tianjin Key Laboratory of Molecular Photoelectric Sciences. He received his postdoctoral degree from the Department of Chemistry, Tsinghua University in July 2014, and from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore in August 2019. From November 2010 to June 2012, he studied as a joint doctoral student at the Department of Chemistry, Tsinghua University. He earned his Ph.D. from China University of Petroleum in June 2012. He is currently the youth director of the Chinese Society of Particle Science. His specific research interests include the following: (1) electro/photocatalytic CO₂ reduction; (2) electrocatalytic coupling reactions of CO₂ and nitrogen-containing small molecules; (3) reactions of CO₂ with low-carbon alcohols to form carbonates; (4) electrocatalytic glycerol oxidation coupled with CO₂ reduction; and (5) water electrolysis to produce hydrogen coupled with glycerol oxidation.
