Professor Meital Zilberman received her B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering (Cum Laude) and her M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Materials Engineering from the Technion in Israel. She continued as a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. She then joined Tel-Aviv University in 2002 and established research and teaching activities in the Biomaterials and drug delivery fields. She now holds an appointment as a Professor with tenure at the Department of Biomedical Engineering and the Department of Materials Science and Engineering of Tel Aviv University. Her research interests are polymeric biomaterials, active implants and scaffolds for tissue engineering, and drug-delivery systems. From 2015 to 2020 she served as the president of the Israel Society for Medical and Biological Engineering (ISMBE). She has published more than 100 articles in the top Biomaterials, Biomedical Engineering and Polymers journals, invented over 30 patents, delivered about 250 presentations (including invited talks keynote and plenary lectures), participated in organizing more than 30 international conferences, and serves in the editorial board of several Biomaterials and Polymeric Materials journals.
