Prof. Dr. Paulo PP Machado is a Full Professor at the School of Psychology at the University of Minho. He received his PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1993, and was a Professor at the Universities of Porto and Minho. He was a Guest Professor at the Universities of Granada, Huelva, and Santiago (Spain); Federal University of Pernambuco and Catholic University of Pelotas (Brazil); and Simon Fraser University (Canada). He is a Fellow of the Academy for Eating Disorders and the past president of the Eating Disorder Research Society. He was Executive Officer of the Society for Psychotherapy Research, and Editor of the Journal Psychotherapy Research, and is a member of the editorial board of the most important international journals in the field of eating disorders. He is currently the Director of the Eating Disorders Research Group at the University of Minho. His main research interests are eating disorders and obesity.
