Mrs. Patricia Sampedro holds a PhD in Psychology and is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Psychology at the Autonomous University of Madrid. She has been the Principal Investigator (PI) of two regional projects related to cognitive deficits and substance use, and, currently, she is the PI of two projects funded by the National Plan on Drugs (PNSD, Ministry of Health, 2022) and the Ministry of Science and Innovation (Knowledge Generation Projects, 2022) on cognitive and neurophysiological impairments related to heavy alcohol and cannabis use in young people and the potential benefits of an aerobic exercise program. She has 45 publications indexed in JCR, 522 citations, several book chapters, and has attended more than 30 national and international conferences (h-index = 18 Google Scholar: h-index = 17 Scopus). Based on all of this, she has received a six-year research accreditation (ANECA, 2022), the accreditation of Associate Professor (ANECA, 2020), the Young Investigator Award (Medicines, 2020), the XII Young Entrepreneurs Psychologists Award in the Research Initiative category related to the project funded by the PNSD 2022 (General Council of Psychology, Psychofoundation, 2022), and, recently, the UAM Young Researchers Award in the Psychology category (UAM, 2024).
