Dr. Arunaksharan Narayanankutty is an Assistant Professor at the Division of Cell and Molecular Biology, PG & Research Department of Zoology, St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous), Calicut, India. He obtained his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the Amala Institute of Medical Sciences, India in 2019. His team works on the management of chronic and infectious diseases using natural products. Among these, functional foods and nutraceuticals are being focused on further development into value-added products. Additionally, anticancer drug discovery from plant extracts and the synthesis of green pesticides from plant essential oils are also given importance. His team also works on the molecular mechanism of action of drug candidates such as functional foods employing cell and animal models.
