Prof. Dr. Shaojian Zheng graduated from the Department of Soil and Agricultural Chemistry of the former Zhejiang Agricultural University as an undergraduate in 1986, attended the Department of Soil and Agricultural Chemistry of Nanjing Agricultural University for his master's and doctoral degrees, and then stayed in the university as a faculty member after receiving his Ph.D. degree in 1991. He conducted postdoctoral research at the Institute of Resource Bioscience, Okayama University, Japan, and the National Kyushu Agricultural Experiment Station, Japan, during 1996–1997 and 1998–2000, respectively. He is a recipient of the Outstanding Youth Fund of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, a Changjiang Scholar Distinguished Professor of the Ministry of Education of China, and a leader of the Innovation Team of “Plant Nutritional Physiology and Molecular Improvement” of the Ministry of Education of China. His research interests include plant adversity physiology and plant nutrition.

Prof. Dr. Qiang Wang received his B.S. degree from Northwest A&F University in 2010 and his Ph.D. degree from Shanghai Institute of Biochemistry and Cell Biology, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2015. He completed postdoctoral fellowships at CAS, UCSF, and Harvard Medical School/Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center from 2015 to 2021. From 2023 to the present, he has been an assistant professor at Tsinghua University School of Life Sciences and a researcher at Tsinghua-Peking University Joint Center for Life Sciences. His research interests include brown and beige fat activation for body thermogenesis, energy metabolism, and glucose/lipid homeostasis.
