Giorgia Fiori received her Ph.D. degree in Applied Electronics from the Roma Tre University, Rome, Italy, in 2023. She is currently a Research Fellow in Mechanical and Thermal Measurements at the Department of Industrial, Electronic and Mechanical Engineering, Roma Tre University, Rome, Italy. In addition, she is a member of IEEE. Her research interests include clinical engineering, mechanical and thermal measurement systems and instrumentation, as well as methods and systems for quality assessment of ultrasound equipment for clinical use.
Maurizio Schmid received his Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Bologna, Bologna, Italy in 2004. He is currently a Full Professor in Biomedical Engineering at the Department of Industrial, Electronic and Mechanical Engineering, Roma Tre University, Rome, Italy, where he directs BioLab3—The Laboratory of Biomedical Engineering. In addition, he is a Senior Member of IEEE. His research interests include the development of device algorithms and classification methods in the area of human movement analysis, where he is now involved in studies on the use of inertial sensors as tools for disease staging and ambient assisted living.
Silvia Conforto received her Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Engineering in 1999. She is currently a Full Professor of Bioengineering at the Department of Industrial, Electronic and Mechanical Engineering, Roma Tre University, Rome. Her main research interests include signal and image processing in the biomedical field, human motion analysis, and motor control. She has devoted special attention to surface myoelectric signal processing techniques under static and dynamic conditions. Since 2004, she has worked in the development of devices for sports performance assessment.
