Artur Paiva is the coordinator of the Flow Cytometry Unit, and coordinator of the Biobank at the Hospitais da Universidade de Coimbra, Unidade Local de Saúde de Coimbra, and professor of Immunology and Hematology at Instituto Politécnico de Coimbra, Portugal. The author completed his degree in Pharmacy in 1995, and his Ph.D. in Molecular and Cell Biology, in the field of Immunology, in 2008, at the University of Coimbra, Portugal. The author has extensive experience in flow cytometry and cell sorting, especially in the immunophenotyping of malignant hematological diseases and solid tumors; along with broad experience in functional study of immune cells, cell cultures, and transplantation. The author's areas of interest include immunology, oncobiology, HIV infection, primary immunodeficiencies, transplantation, and vaccination.
