Sumita Mishra is an Assistant Professor at the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute, Virginia Tech University, USA. She holds a Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Chemical Biology. She served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine (2012–2018). From 2021 to 2023, she was a Research Instructor at the Johns
Hopkins University School of Medicine. She was awarded the 2021 AHA Career Development Award, the 2020 W. Leigh Thompson Excellence in Research Award, and
the 2019 AHA Basic Cardiovascular Science Scientific Sessions Honorable Mention Award. Her research interests include heart failure, heart failure with preserved ejection fraction, and cardiometabolic health.
