Prof. Dr. Zafer Sabit is a Chief Assistant Professor at the Department of Physiology and Pathophysiology, Faculty of Medicine, Medical University of Sofia. He received his Master’s degree in Biology and Geography at Shumen University in 1999 and his Master’s degree in Veterinary Medicine at the University of Forestry in 2006. His research interests include oxidative stress and its role in infertility and neurodegenerative disorders; stress-induced analgesia; the effects of a ketogenic diet in experimental animals with induced epilepsy; and the neuro-pharmacological activity of melatonin derivatives.
Prof. Todor Ganchev Bogdanov is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, Medical University of Sofia. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Physics, and his Master’s and PhD degrees in Plasma Physics at the University of Sofia “St. Kliment Ohridski”. His research interests include plasma physics, gas discharge physics, low-temperature plasma medical physics, biophysics, and EMF–tissue interaction. He has also received several awards, such as the Award for Young Scientist of the Medical Faculty of MU, Sofia, in the field of basic sciences (2019).
Prof. Rumiana Tzoneva is head of the Transmembrane Signalling Laboratory at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. He received his Master’s degree in Molecular and Functional Biology at the Sofia University “St. Kl. Ohridski” (SU) in 1988 and completed his PhD studies in Biotechnology and Biomaterials at the Potsdam University in 2003. His research areas include the study of the biocompatibility of polymeric materials for the purposes of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, antitumor treatment involving new antitumor lipids, cytotoxicity, metastases, apoptosis, migration, cell cycles, and the pathogenesis of angiogenesis. He is a member of the Editorial Board of the journals Annals of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics and Trends in Cancer Research and Chemotherapy, and of the Scientific Board of the Institute of Biophysics and Biomedical Engineering.
