Prof. Dr. Rüdiger von Eisenhart-Rothe is a Professor at the Technical University of Munich. He studied medicine at LMU Munich and completed a distance education program in business administration at the University of Hagen. In 2006, he acquired his postdoctoral teaching qualification in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Friedrichsheim University Hospital in Frankfurt. In 2009, he was appointed senior physician in the Department of Orthopedics and Sports Orthopedics at Klinikum rechts der Isar. Since 2012, he has been head of the Department of Orthopedics at TUM and is director of the Department of Orthopedics and Sports Orthopedics at Klinikum rechts der Isar. His research interests mainly include: artificial intelligence, robotic-assisted surgery, arthroplasty with focus on revisions, and tumor surgery.
Prof. Dr. Rainer Burgkart received his medical license in May 1989 and his M.D. in 1989 from the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster, Westfalen, Germany. After his medical education in the Orthopaedic Department of the Technische Universität München, Germany, and two research fellowships at Duke University, NC (1990–1991 and 1998–1999), he finished the board exams in 1997 as an orthopedic surgeon. Since 1997, he has been working as an Assistant Professor (Oberarzt) in the Orthopaedic Department of the Technische Universität München, Germany. His current research interests involve innovative surgical interventions with navigation and robotics, biomechanics, simulation technology, haptic displays, and advanced teaching devices. Dr. Burgkart is a member of DGOOC, DGU, BVO, CAOS, CURAC, GOTS, and Piedmont Society.
