Author Biographies

Dr. María del Refugio Castañeda-Chávez holds a PhD in Environmental Science and Technology from the CONAHCYT CIMAV Center and a PhD in Biological Oceanology from Ecole de la Mer, Francia. She is a full-time research professor at the Boca del Río campus of the Tecnologico Nacional de Mexico and has been Head of the Aquatic Resources Research Laboratory since 2005. She is a Member of the Consolidated Academic Body “Ciencias Acuícolas y Pesqueras”, which is a research line of the academic body “Management of aquatic organisms”. She is also the coordinator of the Master of Science in Environmental Engineering and PhD in Environmental Sciences in TECNM/ITBOCA.
They obtained a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering from the Program at TECNM/ITBOCA. They hold a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering from the Instituto Tecnológico Superior de San Andrés Tuxtla: San Andrés Tuxtla, Veracruz. They are the author of an article entitled 'Social Dynamics of Face Masks as Single-Use Waste from the COVID-19 Pandemic', and are a co-author of 'Agricultural policies and local sustainability: a normative coherence for development analysis of Mexico's pineapple sector.'
They are a Research Professor at the Tecnológico Nacional of México/Instituto Tecnológico de Boca del Río  (TECNM/ITBOCA). They are a Master of Science in Aquaculture. They are assigned to the Division of Graduate Studies and Research, as well as being a participant in the Master of Science Program in Environmental Engineering. They are the Secretary of the Graduate Council of the Master of Science Program in Environmental Engineering. Line of Research (LGAC 1) Processes and Environmental Biotechnology in Marine Coastal Ecosystems. They are also the Head of the Microbiology and Molecular Biology Laboratories (LIRA).
Dr. Fabiola Lango-Reynoso achieved her Doctorate in Oceanology Biology at the Universite de Bretagne Occidental, France, in 1999 and her Master of Science in Marine Sciences at the Interdisciplinary Center for Marine Sciences (CICIMAR-IPN) in 1994. She is an aquaculture engineer from the Technological Institute of the Sea 01. In terms of professional experience, she is an associate professor–researcher, has been recognized as a professor with a desirable profile (PROMEP), is a researcher for SNI LEVEL II, and has been the coordinator of the graduate program 'Master of Science in Environmental Engineering' at the Technological Institute of Boca del Rio (ITBOCA) since 2015.
