Prof. Hongwei Liang received a doctoral degree from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, China, in 2005. Currently, he is the Vice Dean of the School of Microelectronics, at Dalian University of Technology, China. He has won the first prize of Science and Technology Progress of Jilin Province and the second prize of Natural Science of Liaoning Province. He presided over several projects such as the sub-project of the key research and development plan of Chongjia, the National Natural Science Foundation, the sub-project of the 863 major project, and the provincial project. His research interests are wide band gap semiconductor materials, synthesis, and production, and their applications in detector devices under extreme environments.
