Author Biographies

Dr. Chenyan Hu is a specially appointed professor of “Chutian Scholarship Fellow” in Hubei Province, a member of the innovation group in Hubei Province, and a master's supervisor at the School of Chemistry and Environmental Engineering, Wuhan Institute of Technology. She received a PhD at the School of Energy and Environment, City University of Hong Kong in 2015. After obtaining the Ph.D. degree, she conducted postdoctoral research at the same university. She mainly engages in the toxicological study of emerging pollutants as well as their removal by an advanced oxidation process.

Prof. Dr. Lianguo Chen is a researcher at the State Key Laboratory of Freshwater Ecology and Biotechnology, Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He studied for a Ph.D. degree at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology from 2012 to 2016. After obtaining the Ph.D. degree, he entered the State Key Laboratory of Marine Pollution, City University of Hong Kong for Postdoctoral research. He has won  the National 1000-Talent Program, the Chinese Academy of Sciences 100-Talent Program, the Hubei Province Distinguished Young Scholar Foundation, and the Wuhan Yellow Crane Talent Program. His main research direction is ecotoxicology, elucidating the environmental behavior, toxic effects, mechanisms of action, and control techniques of typical or novel persistent organic pollutants.
