Author Biographies

Dr. Jongsoo Choi (Senior Research Fellow) earned his Ph.D. in Environmental Science from Kangwon National University in 2003. Since 1995, he has worked as a Senior Research Fellow at Korea Land & Housing Corporation (LH), focusing on urban water management and climate change. He is currently serving as a member of the Presidential Water Commission, contributing to national water policy. His expertise has been recognized through various accolades, including a commendation from the Minister of Environment. Dr. Choi has authored several books, including the widely recognized “Water Knows the Secret”, and continues to play a leading role in advancing sustainable water practices in urban environments.
Dr. JungMin, Lee (Director, Urban Climate Environment Research Center, LHRI) received his Ph.D. from Pukyong National University in 2007. Since 2007, he has been conducting research at the Korea Land and Housing Research Institute (LHRI) with a focus on water resources, climate change, and urban disaster prevention. Currently, as the Director of the Urban Climate and Environment Research Center, he is responsible for projects related to Low Impact Development (LID), rainwater reuse, and greenhouse gas inventory calculations in response to urban climate change. He is also participating in the national R&D project, "Development of Digital Twin-based Urban Climate Change Prediction and Damage Detection Technology."
Dr. Myeongin Kim (researcher, LHRI) received his Ph.D. from Dong-Eui University in 2024. He has been working as a researcher at LH since 2023. His main research areas include urban planning and climate change, and he is currently participating in the national R&D project, "Development of Digital Twin-based Urban Climate Change Prediction and Damage Detection Technology."
Mr. JaeHyeon Lee (researcher, LHRI) served as an administrative assistant at Dong-Eui University until 2023 and has been working as a researcher at LH since 2024. His main research areas include urban design, climate change and landscape, and he is currently participating in the national R&D project, "Development of Digital Twin-based Urban Climate Change Prediction and Damage Detection Technology."
Dr. Youngtae Cho (Director of Urban Study in LH) received his doctorate from the Department of Architecture at Korea University in 2003, and has been working as a researcher at LH since 2005. His main research areas are smart city and urban design. He serves as a member of the National Smart City Committee and is also participating in national R&D related to smart cities.
