Prof. Zhe Li is a Professor at the Department of Architecture, College of
Architecture, Tianjin University, Tianjin, China. He graduated 2008 as Doctor
of Technical Science at Tianjin University in 2008. From 2008 to 2010 he worked
as Lecturer at Tianjin University. He is a Member of the Great Wall Society of
China, a Member of the National Key Lab of Ancient Building Surveying
Technology, and a member of an expert group of the State Administration of
Cultural Heritage. His main current research interests include: UAV
photogrammetry and laser scanning for architectural heritages, Advanced UAV
Platform development for LIDAR, Chinese ancient building surveying method and
strategy in complex environments, physical and environmental data acquisition
with UAVs and integration with terrain Data, Planning and design for heritage
preservation, RS for Archeology.
Prof. Yan Li is the Deputy
Director of the Key Laboratory of Information Technology for the Inheritance of
Architectural Cultural Heritage, Ministry of Culture and Tourism. He is also an
Associate Professor and a Doctoral Supervisor at the College of Architecture,
Tianjin University, Tianjin, China. He earned, a Master’s degree in Architectural
Design and Theory at the Tianjin University in 2004, and a Ph.D. in 2007. He
was a Visiting Scholar at the Department of Fine Arts, University of
Louisville, USA from 2015 to 2016, a Visiting Scholar at the Needham Research
Institute, Cambridge, UK from 2016 to 2017, and a Visiting Scholar at the
Institute of History of Science, Max Planck Society, Germany in 2017. His research
direction includes: 1. Great Wall architectural heritage and spatial analysis; 2.
Protection of traditional dwellings and settlement changes.
Yukun Zhang is a Professor of the Department of Architecture at the School of Architecture, Tianjin University, where he is also a Member of the Academic Committee. He first graduated from Tianjin University in 1982 when he received his Bachelor’s degree of Architecture in Engineering, after that he received his Master’s degree and his Ph.D. from the same university. He holds several academic positions, such as Director of the Key Laboratory of Information Technology for Architectural Culture Inheritance, Culture and Tourism Ministry of China (Tianjin University), Associate Director of the Expertise Board of Chinese Vernacular Houses of Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, Associate Director of Vernacular Houses Expertise Committee of the National Architecture Research Association of China. He has received multiple awards in the field of architecture, including the Architecture Design Award of China-Architectural Education Award by the Architectural Society of China in 2018 and the Master of Chinese Vernacular Architecture by the National Architecture Research Association of China in 2016. His research interests are mainly on settlement change, military settlement of China’s Great Wall, ancient architecture and astronomy, and productive cities (urban farming, built environment integrated photovoltaic, and any other green productive strategy and planning, etc.).
