Author Biographies

Mr. Saidu Umar works at the University of Nottingham, Nottingham, UK. He received his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Bayero University Kano, Nigeria, and his master’s in Intelligent Systems and Robotics from De Montfort University, Leicester, UK. He is a professional member of The British Computing Society. Before his current role, he was a research assistant to Dr Aboozar Taherkhani; he dedicated his time to work on point cloud data and image processing. His research interests include exploring the real-world application of data science and artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep neural networks, natural language processing, image processing, 3D data processing, and robotics. Mr. Saidu Umar plans to pursue a PhD shortly to further explore his research interests and expand research in his areas of interest.
Dr. Aboozar Taherkhani received the PhD degree from the Intelligent Systems Research Centre, Ulster University, London, Derry, UK, in 2017. Aboozar currently works as a senior lecturer at the School of Computer Science and Informatics, De Montfort University. Previously, he was a full-time research fellow at the Computational Neuroscience and Cognitive Robotics Laboratory, at Nottingham Trent University, Nottingham, UK. He worked as a research fellow on the Leverhulme Trust Research Project entitled “Novel Approaches for Constructing Optimised Multimodal Data Spaces”. His current research interests include artificial intelligence, data science, big data, deep neural networks, image and 3D data processing, multimodal data analysis, and spiking neural networks. He is also interested in using machine learning methods for robotics, the Internet of Things (IoT), activity recognition, and natural language processing.
