Majid Niazkar received his BS degree in Civil Engineering, his MS degree in Hydraulic Structures and hs PhD degree in Water Resources from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Shiraz University, Shiraz, Iran. He has three years of postdoctoral experiences at the Shiraz University, University of Milan, and the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano. He currently works at the Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change (CMCC). He is one of the editors of the book named "Water Resource Modeling and Computational Technologies", which was published by Elsevier in October 2022. He is the guest editor of
several special issues, e.g., “Assessment of Climate Change Impact on Water Resources Using Machine Learning Algorithms” in the Journal of Water and Climate Change. He was selected as one of the World's Top 2% Scientists in 2020 and 2021. He has published more than 70 publications (peer-reviewed international journal papers, book chapters, and conference papers). His publications have more than 1200 citations in Google scholar (h-index: 21). He has more than 400 verified reviews for more than 40 international journals on his Web of Science profile (h-index: 17). He won the 2022 outstanding reviewer
award for the Water journal (Switzerland). He was also recognized as the top reviewer in 2023 for the section of hydrology and hydraulics of Acta Geophysica. His research interests include water resources, hydroinformatics, and climate change impact assessment.
