Dr. Andreas Menychtas is Assistant Professor in the Department of Digital Systems, School of Information Technology and Communications, University of Piraeus. He graduated from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens in 2004 and continued his postgraduate and doctoral studies at the same school. In 2009, he completed his Ph.D. thesis which focused on the design and implementation of systems, architectures and methodologies for quality-of-service assurance in distributed systems and cloud computing environments. He teaches in the Department of Digital Systems the undergraduate courses: “Object-Oriented Programming”, “C Programming”, “Web and Mobile Information Systems”, “Introduction to Cloud Computing”, “Logic and Logic Programming” and Information Systems”. The research interests of Dr. Menychtas focus on modern Information System Infrastructures, Software Development and Internet of Things. Dr. Menychtas has participated as a scientific coordinator, researcher and engineer in many European and national research projects. In the context of his research activities, he works on topics related to Edge Computing, Internet of Things, Smart Cities, eHealth, Software Modelling and Optimization, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
