Alexander Werbik is a lecturer at the Institute of Business and Regional Economics (IBR) at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences. After completing his PhD in Information Economics at Ludwig-Maximilians-University, Munich, he worked at the German Academy of Engineering Sciences (acatech) starting in 2015. There, he was responsible for developing economic policy recommendations at the national and international levels. Since 2017, he has been actively engaged in entrepreneurial activities, focusing on the establishment and international expansion of IT ventures in Berlin and Zurich. At Lucerne University of Applied Sciences, he teaches at the master's level and in continuing education programs. His primary focus lies in teaching and researching start-up entrepreneurship and exploring peripheral economic systems in the digital age. With his expertise, he explores how companies can benefit from digital innovations and how regional ecosystems can be sustainably strengthened through the use of information technology. Within international cooperation networks, he advocates for a close integration of entrepreneurship, science, and politics.
