Author Biographies

Chuyan Zhang is a lecturer at the Beijing Institute of Information Engineering, China University of Geosciences. He graduated from the Department of Electrical Engineering of Tsinghua University with a bachelor’s degree in Engineering in 2008 and from the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics Technology of Tsinghua University with a doctorate in Engineering in 2013. He worked as an engineer at State Grid Corporation of China from 2013 to 2014. He was a postdoctoral fellow in Environmental Science and Engineering at the Shenzhen Graduate School of Tsinghua University from 2014 to 2016. He has been teaching at China University of Geosciences (Beijing) since 2016. His main research directions include external insulation of power systems, high-voltage technology, UHV insulator technology, electromagnetic environments, and pollution flashover. He has participated in the completion of many scientific research projects, including two 973 projects. In 2012, he won first prize in the China Southern Power Grid Corporation’s Science and Technology Progress Award and second prize in the China Electric Power Science and Technology Progress Award.
