Dr. Aniqah Bhatti received her Bachelor of Arts in Physiology, Development and Neuroscience from the University of Cambridge in 2020, and Bachelor of Medicine from the same university in 2023. She is now an Academic Foundation Doctor at the Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. She also serves as a Clinical Supervision Scheme Lead at the University of Cambridge, and a National Representative at the Widening Participation Medics Network. She was awarded in the Clinical School Teaching Programme Prize (2023), Jim Knott Hospital Palliative Care Essay Prize (2023) and Top 10% Paediatric and O&G Clinical Examinations (2022).
Dr. Iskandar Idris is a Professor of Diabetes and Metabolic Medicine at the University of Nottingham, and an Honorary Consultant Physician at the Derby Teaching Hospital. He was a lecturer at the Division of Vascular Medicine, University of Nottingham, from 2000 to 2002, and received his Doctor of Medicine degree while undertaking a study on Experimental Pharmacology of Endothelial Permeability and Insulin Resistance. He also serves as a Training Programme Director for Specialist Training in Diabetes and Endocrinology at the East Midlands postgraduate deanery, and a lead physician within the East Midlands Bariatric & Metabolic Institute at the Derby Teaching Hospital. His teaching disciplines include long-standing interest and expertise in general aspects of diabetes, obesity and endocrinology. His research interests are epidemiological, clinical and experimental studies relating to therapeutic, nutritional, surgical and biological aspects of diabetes, obesity, insulin resistance and vascular risks in patients with diabetes and obesity.
