Fábio Serrão holds a degree in Physiotherapy from the Methodist University of Piracicaba (1996), a Master's degree in Physiotherapy from the Federal University of São Carlos (1998), a Ph.D. in Physiotherapy from the Federal University of São Carlos (2004) and a post-doctorate in Human Movement Sciences from the Cruzeiro do Sul University (2012). He is currently a Full Professor at the Federal University of São Carlos-UFSCar, a Member of the Editorial Board of the Brazilian Journal of Physical Therapy and an Associate Editor of the Journal Fisioterapia e Pesquisa. He was the advisor of the doctoral thesis that won the 2015 Capes Thesis Award in the area that includes Physical Education, Physiotherapy, Speech Therapy and Occupational Therapy. He is a CNPq research productivity scholarship holder-Level 1D. He has experience in the area of Physiotherapy, with an emphasis on Orthopedic and Traumatological Physiotherapy and Sports Physiotherapy, working mainly on the following topics: evaluation and rehabilitation of lower limb injuries and biomechanics.
Carlos Maciel earned a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from COPPE/UFRJ Brazil (2000) and an Electronics degree from IME Brazil (1989). Teaching signal processing, instrumentation, and large-scale system analysis, he is a Full Professor at the UNESP (State University of São Paulo), Brazil. He addresses signal processing, probabilistic and causal models, computationally expensive methods, resilience, and system planning. For undergraduate students, he teaches Signal and Systems and Digital Signal Processing; for the graduate level, he offers Pattern Recognition and Statistical Signal Processing.
