Dr. Xianfang Sun is currently a Senior Lecturer with the School of Computer Science, Cardiff University, UK. He is currently conducting research on a broad range of areas related to machine learning, computer vision, and graphics. He received his BSc (Electrical Automation) from Hubei University of Technology, Wuhan, in 1984, his MSc (Control Theory and its Applications) from Tsinghua University, Beijing, in 1991 and his Ph.D. from the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, in 1994. His main research interests include computer vision, computer graphics, pattern recognition and artificial intelligence.
Dr. Emiliano Spezi is Professor of Healthcare Engineering at Cardiff University School of Engineering, Chair of the School Research Ethics Committee and Leader of the Life Imaging and Data Analytics team. He recieved his MSc (Clinical Scientist) in 1998 from the University of Bologna, Bologna, Italy, and his PhD in 2003 from the University of Wales College of Medicine, Cardiff, UK. After a decade of work with the National Health Service as a Research Clinical Scientist, he moved to Cardiff University School of Engineering, where he led the Medical Engineering Research Group. Dr. Spezi is a UK-registered clinical scientist (Health and Care Professions Council, HCPC), a Chartered Member of the Institute of Physics, and a Fellow of the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine. His current research interests centre on three main areas: (1) Quantitative Imaging Biomarkers and Radiomics, (2) Image Guidance for Precision Medicine, (3) Modelling in Radiation Oncology.
