Zhou Yang received B.E. and M.E. degrees from Shanxi Agricultural University, China, in 1995 and 1998, respectively, and a Ph.D. degree from the South China Agricultural University, China, in 2001. He is currently a professor in the College of Engineering, South China Agricultural University, China, and he is the president of Guangdong Ocean University, China, and a member of the Chinese Society of Agricultural Engineering. From 2009 to 2010, he was a visiting scholar at the University of Southern Queensland. He won the second prize for national teaching achievements, the first prize in the Guangdong Agricultural Technology Promotion, and the second prize in the Guangdong Science and Technology Award, among other awards. His research interests include the mechanization of fruit production and intelligent agricultural machinery equipment.

Jieli Duan is currently a professor at the College of Engineering, South China Agricultural University, China. She is the deputy director of the first committee of the Facility Horticulture and Fruit and Vegetable Machinery Branch of the China Agricultural Machinery Society. She is a member of the Chinese Society of Agricultural Engineering. She received a B.E. degree from Shanxi Agricultural University, China, in 1997, and M.E. and Ph.D. degrees from South China Agricultural University, China, in 2008 and 2018, respectively. From 2016 to 2017, she was a visiting scholar at the Center for Precision and Automated Agriculture at Washington State University. Her research interests include agricultural machinery, agricultural engineering, and information.
