Dr. Sang Minh Nguyen received his PhD in Epidemiology from Vanderbilt University in 2022. He is currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Division of Epidemiology, Department of Medicine, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. His main research interest is non-communicable disease (NCD) epidemiology, focusing on cancer. His research aims to understand biological mechanisms underlying NCD development and progression, which would lead to the development of personalized preventive strategies for reducing NCD risk and improving NCD prognosis.
Dr. Xiao-Ou Shu is an Ingram Professor of Cancer Research and Professor in the Division of Epidemiology in the Department of Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Co-leader
for the Cancer Epidemiology Program, and Associate Director for Global Health at the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center. She received an MD (1984) and MPH (1987) from Shanghai Medical University and a PhD in Epidemiology from Columbia University in 1993. Her research mainly focuses on large-scale epidemiological studies on cancer and other chronic diseases.
