Prof. Dr. Serkan Özgen is a full-time faculty member at the Aerospace Engineering Department, Middle East Technical University. He completed his PhD studies in Aerospace Engineering at the Von Karman Institute for Fluid Dynamics. He recently led the project titled "Power Production Optimization of Wind Turbines Under Atmospheric Icing Conditions" (Project Number: 221M477) funded by Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye and the project titled "Design and Development of a Very Light Aircraft (VLA)" funded by Turkish Aerospace, Inc. He has published 26 papers in various journals, and serves as a Technical Team Member for NATO AVT-388 Operation of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) in Icing Environments, as well as a General Assembly Member for the Von Karman Institute for Fluid Dynamics. His teaching disciplines include aerodynamics, aircraft design and thermodynamics, and his interests include atmospheric icing and flow instabilities.
