Soon Hong Lee, born 1958 in South Korea, studied industrial chemistry at Hanyang University, where he completed his Bachelor's degree in 1982, a Master's degree in 1985, and a Doctorate in 1991, before a postdoctoral stay in the group of T.C. Mike Chung of Pennsylvania State University from 1992 to 1994. He served as a researcher at the membrane filtration lab at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology from 1985 to 1992, the group leader in the field of eco-friendly materials at the Korea Automotive Research Institute from 1994 to 1998, and a professor of Environmental and Energy Engineering at Anyang University from 1998 to 2024. His research field is the synthesis of eco-friendly materials and adsorbents for environmentally hazardous materials. He has been the project leader of ISO TC38/WG36, related to activated carbon fiber for adsorbing radioactive materials, since February 2024.

Dr. Hyun Woo Kim is the Director and Laboratory Chief at the Korea Environment Investigation and Assessment Institute, South Korea. He holds a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Forest Ecology from Korea University, Seoul, Korea, and a Ph.D. in Soil Science from North Carolina State University, USA. Dr. Kim's expertise spans soil science, data science, and ecology. He has contributed to various international institutions and universities, including the Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique (INRA), Champenoux, France; the USDA-FS Center for Forested Watershed Research, Cordesville, SC, USA; the National Institute of Environmental Research, Incheon, Korea; the National Institute of Ecology, Seocheon, Korea; and the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Hanyang University, Seoul, Korea. His research interests encompass soil pollution assessment, ecological data management, remote sensing, climate change, and eco-hydrological modeling.
