Dr. Ed Daly is a lecturer and research scientist of Sport Exercise & Nutrition at the Atlantic Technological University, Galway City, Ireland. He holds an MSc from Limerick Institute of Technology and a PhD in Sport and Exercise Science from Oxford Brookes University, UK. He is also a Founder member of the Irish Concussion Research Centre (ICRC), collaborating with academic, medical, and sports organizations in Ireland, Australia, USA, New Zealand, Japan, Canada, Denmark, and the UK, and developing athlete welfare strategies to reduce mTBI/concussion injury risk ranging from professional/high-performance sport to amateur sports. His research interests encompass mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) physiology, mTBI/concussion education strategies, athlete workload management (injury risk), objective mTBI/concussion diagnosis, and post-injury management.
Dr. Lisa Ryan is Head of the Department of Sport, Exercise and Nutrition in the School of Science and Computing at Atlantic Technological University (formerly Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology, GMIT), Ireland. She holds a first-class honors degree in Nutritional Science and a PhD in Nutritional Biochemistry from University College Cork.  She is also a Registered Nutritionist (RNutr) with the Association for Nutrition. Dr. Ryan has an extensive background in working with the sports industry and providing training and education in sports and nutrition. To date, she has worked with over 50 food industry partners and has attracted research funding from agencies such as the UK's Medical Research Council, The Nuffield Trust, and The Wellcome Trust. In 2015, she was awarded the prestigious Agrifood Fellowship in Australia to investigate the potential of marine polyphenols as anti-diabetic agents.
