Valeria Rachela Villella is a reseracher at CEINGE-Biotecnologie Avanzate, Naples, and she focuses on cystic fibrosis physiopathology and mechanisms, and precision medicine. During 2022, she was a grant researcher at the Department of Molecular Medicine and Medical Biotechnology, the University of Naples Federico II. She completed her PhD studies in Biotechnological Science at the University of Naples Federico II (2011). She was a senior researcher (2015-2021) at the European Institute for Research in Cystic Fibrosis (IERFC onlus, Milan, Italy). Her reseach was mainly regarding the study and understanding of the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying the defects in cystic fibrosis. In 2021, she was a scholarship holder at the Department of Chemical Engineering, Materials and Industrial Production at the University of Naples Federico II, where she carries out research on detection and amplification, with the use of biosensors, of the presence of immunoglobulins in blood affected by COVID-19. Her research interests include cell culture, cell signaling, cancer biology, Immunofluorescence, western blot analysis, PCR, and Molecular Biology.
