Prof. Dr. Zhifang Zhao is a
professor and PhD supervisor at Yunnan University. She is currently the Vice
Dean of the School of Earth Sciences; Deputy Director of the Key Laboratory of
Mineral Formation and Resource Exploration and Utilization of Sanjiang River,
Ministry of Natural Resources; and Director of the Geological Engineering
Research Center of Yunnan University for Remote Sensing by Domestic
High-Definition Satellite. From January to June 2020, she went to the University
of North Texas and the Department of Geography and the Environment, as a visiting scholar. She studied
for a Ph.D. degree at China University of Geosciences (Beijing),
majoring in Remote Sensing of Resources and Environment, from 2005 to 2008. In addition, she is the
director of the Remote Sensing Geology Branch of the Chinese Geological
Society, a member of the International Association of Mathematical Geology
(IAMG), the director of the Yunnan Geographical Society, and a part-time
master's supervisor of the China University of Geosciences (Beijing). Her research
areas include the remote sensing monitoring of resources and the environment, enhanced
extraction of mineralization and alteration anomalies through remote sensing,
and remote sensing monitoring of land resources in border areas.
