Kai Wu is a professor at the School of Electrical Engineering, Xi’an Jiaotong University. He received his bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees from Xi’an Jiaotong University in 1989, 1992, and 1998, respectively. From 1998 to 2006, he worked at Nagoya University, Japan, the University of Leicester, UK, and the Central Research Institute of Electric Power Industry, Japan, successively. In 2006, he was appointed as a distinguished professor at Xi’an Jiaotong University. In 2017, he won the Chen Jidan Award at the 1st IEEE International Conference on Electrical Materials and Power Equipment (ICEMPE). In 2022 and 2023, he became the chairperson of IEEE Conference on Electrical Insulation and Dielectric Phenomena (CEIDP). He is currently the associate editor of IEEE TDEI and a senior member of IEEE. He has long been committed to the research of charge transport and destruction mechanisms in dielectric materials, electric field analysis and life evaluation of DC insulation structures, new energy technologies and integrated energy systems. He has published over 200 papers in international journals.
