Dr. Leonardo de Souza Teixeira graduated in Industrial Pharmacy from the Federal University of Ouro Preto in 1999. He obtained his Master’s and Doctorate degrees from the Federal University of Goiás. He is the CEO of the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and a member of the Brazilian Pharmacopoeia, ANVISA. He is also the Academician of the National Academy of Pharmacy and the Commander of the Federal Council of Pharmacy. He has worked for 20 years in the area of industrial pharmacy, with emphasis on the Analysis and Control of Medications, acting mainly on the following topics: quality control, pharmaceutical equivalence and dissolution, cell permeability, bioavailability, population pharmacokinetic modeling (POPPK), physiology-based pharmacokinetic models (PBPK) and clinical research phases I, II and III. He possesses extensive knowledge of Brazilian legislation on medications.
