Dr. Abdurrahman Coskun received his MD degree from Erciyes University School of Medicine in 1994. In 1999, he completed his specialization in biochemistry and clinical biochemistry at the same university. He joined the Acibadem Healthcare Group in 2008 and was appointed Professor of Biochemistry and Clinical Biochemistry at Acibadem University in 2014. Dr. Coskun's research focuses on biological variation, reference intervals, mathematical modeling, and improving quality in clinical laboratories. He is a member of the European Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (EFLM) Science Committee and chairs the EFLM Task Group on Practical Guidance for Implementing Measurement Uncertainty in Laboratory Medicine. He also serves as an expert consultant for the EFLM Biological Variation Working Group and is a member of the EFLM Biological Variation Database Task Group. Additionally, he is a member of the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (IFCC) Task Force on the Global Reference Interval Database (TF-GRID). Dr. Coskun has received several prestigious awards, including the EFLM Award for Achievements in Advancing Laboratory Medicine in Europe (sponsored by Roche) in 2023 and the EFLM Award for Excellence in Outcomes Research in Laboratory Medicine (sponsored by Abbott Diagnostics) in 2021.
