Dr. Anne Lemnitzer is an Associate Professor at the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering at the University of California, Irvine (UCI). She completed her undergraduate education in structural engineering at the University of Applied Sciences (HTWK) Leipzig in 2004. She earned her M.Sc. in Geotechnical Engineering from the California State University, Long Beach (2005) and Structural & Earthquake Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles (2007). She obtained her Ph.D. in Structural & Earthquake Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles (2009). From 2009–2011, she worked as an Assistant Professor at California State University Fullerton. In 2011, she joined the University of California. She serves as the Director of UCI's Structural Testing Facility, and has extensive experience in large-scale experimental research. She is the Editor in Chief of the DFI Journal and Associate Editor for ASCE's JGGE and IJoG. Her research interests include natural hazard engineering, geotechnical and earthquake engineering, soil structure interaction, RC design, and seismic monitoring. She has participated and led several seismic and flood reconnaissance trips and works with collaborators worldwide on translational research applicable to design,  construction and performance of elements and systems.
