Dr. Jun Ren is an Associate Professor at the School of Bioengineering, Dalian University of Technology. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Polymer and his PhD degree in Biochemical engineering at Dalian University of Technology in 2003 and 2009, respectively. From 2009 to 2011, he completed his postdoctoral training in Biochemical engineering at the same university. He is very interested in understanding the mechanism of biomolecule recognition, which plays a central role in a variety of life activities, and hopes to exploit its potential application in different areas of biotechnology and biomedical applications.
Dr. Xin Yang graduated from Beijing Jiaotong University, China in 2005 with a BEng in Biomedical Engineering and then obtained an MSc in Medical Electronics & Physics from Queen Mary, University of London. He obtained his PhD in Medical Engineering from Cardiff University in 2011, conducting research of Doppler ultrasound in neovascularization quantification. He has been awarded several research grants funded by the EPSRC, the Royal Society, GCRF, Wellcome Trust, and other industries. He is currently a leader in the Medical Ultrasound and Sensor Laboratory (MUSL) at the School of Engineering, Cardiff University, aiming to develop novel technologies for cancer diagnosis and treatment, as well as healthcare technologies for other diseases.
