Dr. Gulshan Mahajan (Adjunct Associate Professor, The University of Queensland, Australia, Scopus h index: 30) started his career in agronomy and has worked at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana, India, for more than 23 years in different capacities (Assistant Professor:2000-2006, Associate Professor 2006-12, Professor 2012-24) and has engaged in research, teaching, and outreach activities. He also worked in matrix management at the University of Queensland (UQ), Australia, International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) and PAU, and he has interacted across programs, institutes, and regions and developed and implemented programs successfully. He has guided one PhD student, four MSc students as a Principal Advisor and more than 20 students as an Associate Advisor. His interests fall within the broad area of agronomy, regenerative agriculture with particular emphasis on weed science, enhancement of input use efficiency, and development of ecologically based integrated crop management strategies for sustained production. He is a fellow of the National Academy of Agricultural Sciences, India and an Associate Editor of the Weed Science Society of America.
Prof. Bhagirath Singh Chauhan joined the Queensland Alliance for Agriculture and Food Innovation (QAAFI) at The University of Queensland in 2014. He now has a joint appointment with QAAFI and SAFS at UQ. He leads research on weed biology and weed management in different crops. He has studied the seed ecology of > 100 weed species and has vast experience in developing integrated weed management options based on agronomic approaches (row spacing, seeding rates, weed-competitive cultivars, etc.). He has more than 20 years of research experience in conducting trials on the improved agronomy of new production systems and integrated weed management options in Australia and > 10 Asian countries. Before joining UQ, Prof. Chauhan worked at the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) in the Philippines for seven years. His research interests include weed ecology and biology, herbicide use, management of herbicide-resistant weeds, nonchemical weed management options, etc. He is a Speciality Chief Editor with Frontiers in Agronomy and an Associate Editor of Weed Science (Weed Science Society of America). He has published over 350 articles in peer-reviewed journals and several books and book chapters. He is an Honorary Member of the Weed Science Society of America
