Author Biographies

Orit Rotem-Mindali served as Head of the Department of Geography and Environment at Bar-Ilan University (BIU) between 2019 and 2023. She currently serves as the co-head of the MA program in Regulation and Environmental Policy (since 2018). Her main research fields are urban geography, transport policy, and environmental policy. The interface between mobility, urban spaces, and environmental concerns is a core focus of her work. Orit has a PhD from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where she also completed her BSc in Life Sciences and Environmental Studies, and her MA in Geography and Environmental Management Planning and Policy. She was a Post-Doctoral Researcher at Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands, where she studied the environmental effects of B2C and C2C e-commerce. She has won numerous prestigious research grants, including awards from H2020 and the Israel Science Foundation.
Noam Katzir is currently a PhD candidate in the Transportation Science program at the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, where she specializes in Smart Mobility and Inclusive Mobility as a Service (MaaS). In addition to her PhD work at the Technion, Noam is a guest researcher in the Research Group on Accessibility Planning at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). Noam holds an M.A. in Environmental Policy and Regulation from Bar-Ilan University, where her research  focused on the regulation of  ecological corridors (under the supervision of Dr. Orit Rotem-Mindali and Prof. Oren Perez). Prior to that, she completed her LLB at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem with a double major in Law and Geography.
Oren Perez served as the Dean of the Faculty of Law at Bar-Ilan University (BIU) between 2017 and 2022. He currently serves as the Head of BIU Multidisciplinary School for Environment and Sustainability, and as co-head of the Environmental Regulation and Policy Program. His main research fields are environmental regulation, transnational law, legal theory, e-democracy and networks.  Prof. Perez has an LLB (Magna Cum Laude) from Tel Aviv University and an LLM and PhD from the London School of Economics and Political Science. He also has a BA in Philosophy from the University of London. He has won a number of prestigious research grants, including awards from the Israel Science Foundation, the Environment and Health Fund, the Chief Scientist of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the Ministry of Justice.
