Ferdinando Nicoletti is a professor at the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology, University Sapienza of Rome, Italy. He received a degree in Medicine and Surgery and a qualification to practice medicine in 1982. He has been an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Catania, since 1995. He has been head of the Laboratory of Neuropharmacology of the Department of Molecular Pathology, Neuromed Institute (I.R.C.C.S.), since 1996. He is a member of the Italian Society of Pharmacology, the Italian Group for the Study of Magnesium, the American Society of Neuroscience, and the Argentine Society of Neuroscience (Honorary Member). His research interests are molecular neuropharmacology; cellular and preclinical models of CNS disorders; and metabotropic glutamate receptors.
