Dr. Michael Abdelmasseh has been a senior clinical Research Fellow at Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine—Department of Surgery for almost five years. He received his medical degree from Alexandria University, Egypt, and a certificate in clinical trials from Harvard Medical School. He recently graduated with a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from Marshall University, with a concentration on research, evaluation, and policy. He conducted and oversaw various clinical trials and projects on surgery, oncology, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, and obesity. He also has over four years of experience as a Global Burden of Disease (GBD) Senior Collaborator at the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME), University of Washington, where he contributed to the world's most comprehensive and widely used health information system. He also collaborates with other researchers and stakeholders to disseminate and apply the findings to inform policy and practice. Dr. Michael Abdelmasseh is passionate about advancing global health equity and innovation through clinical trials and research, and he strives to use my expertise and leadership skills to positively impact the health and well-being of people and communities worldwide.
