Eun-Jeong Koh is a postdoc researcher at the Korea Institute of Ocean Science and Technology (KIOST). She earned her PhD in Food Science and Biotechnology from CHA University. Her research focuses on preventing and improving metabolic diseases such as cognitive disorders, obesity, and gut health for developing functional materials from marine and terrestrial resources. This work has resulted in the publication of 14 SCI papers. Recently, she has also participated in a project on marine fisheries by-products. Her main research interests include cognitive impairment, constipation, and cell growth.
Dr. Soo-Jin Heo is the Principal Research Scientist of integrate use of marine biomass research group at Korea Institute of Ocean Science and Technology (KIOST). He received his PhD degree from Jeju National University in 2008. In his degree, he studied the characterization and identification of valuable bioactive compounds from seaweeds and confirmed these functional activities. Recently, his research project has focused on the development of applied technology for multipurpose industry material using marine organisms to utilize functional foods, pharmaceuticals, and cosmeceuticals. His main research interests include the Identification of bioactive compounds from marine organisms, functional evaluation (anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, anti-diabetes, anti-obesity, anti-hypertensive, anti-wrinkle, and whitening activities).
