Luigi Solazzi received a Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Brescia in 1994 and obtained qualification to practice as an Engineer in 1995. Then he completed his Ph.D. studies in Applied Mechanics at the University of Brescia in 1999. Since 2000, he has been a Researcher in the scientific disciplinary sector at the Department of Mechanical. He is currently a professor at the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, University of Brescia. He was awarded the Alfred Rosling Bennett Premium/S Lake Award in 1998. His research interests are composite materials; pressure vessels; design of multilayer cylindrical components; dynamic load; impulse loading; structural vibration; dynamic behavior; dynamic analyses; lifting equipment; and finite element analyses.
