Author Biographies

Nasser Farhat earned a Ph.D. in Water Resources from the Lebanese University and a Postdoctorate in Environmental Engineering from Atlantic International University (2024), He also obtained several certificates in Remote Sensing with Google Earth Engine from NASA (7), Berlin University (3), CESBIO (1) and California University (1). His studies focused on environmental issues such as drought, water quality, fire, flood, ocean, and air quality. He is now the Manager and Vice president of the Lebanese Center for Water and Environment (LCWE), and a lecturer at several universities. His work in environmental and hydrogeological topics with GIS and remote sensing skills has resulted in dozens of publications, presentations, lectures, and courses; he is an Advisory Board Member in Heliyon Earth Science Journal/ ELSEVIER, and a Reviewer in some peer-reviewed international journals. He has also received awards (Best Research in GEE for the 2021 year) from FREIE UNIVERSITÄT BERLIN, DAAD, Germany; and he is the lead of some funded projects: CBC-MED (2021) and IHE-Delft (2023–2027). His research interests include hydrogeology, climate change, GIS, RS, and the environment.
